Portland Fishing Charters Tuition - 2012 Season

This tuna season we will be offering blue fin and mako shark tuition charters out of portland so if you have your own boat and want to learn some tricks of the trade allow skipper Simon Rinaldi to pass on over 30 years of game fishing experince to you.

The tuition fishing charters can be booked just like any of our Red Hot Fishing Charters. these charters would be best over 2 days as day one would see Simon take you through the basic's of game fishing for tuna,this includes how to locate tuna, using the gps and sounders to maximise your chances of catching tuna,what birds are birds worth taking notice of. Through to lure pattens and lure choice/position etc.

Tuition day 2. Mako shark fishing,Simon will take you through the basic's of mako shark fishing, this will include rigging baits the right way, bait choice, when to start a burley trail and why, locating bait fish, all the way through to landing one of the oceans greatest game fish.

Simon has put his clients onto some awesome fish over the years here is a run down of a few. Portland bluefin tuna 103kg winner of the game fishing comp held each year at portland!. Bluefin tuna 101 kg caught by simon during the filming of extreme bluewater fishing tuna and mako dvd portland!. 138kg blue fin tuna caught on red hot charters the biggest landed on a victorian charter boat!. Release of est 400kg mako at bermagui nsw. Heaps of marlin caught and released!. While fishing solo up and down the NSW east coast Simon has caught and released marlin after 3 way marlin hook ups by himself .

Local skipper Simon Rinaldi has been fishing the local waters of Port Phillip, Western Port & Bass Straight for 26 years.

Simon also has 15 years experience working as a skipper/deckhand in the open waters of Bass Straight and as far north as the Gold Coast catching fish that only dreams are made of!
